Philanthropy
For us, to do well as a business, we have to do good. Our idea of success is more about who we can help than helping ourselves. We believe in showing mercy and love and in upholding the dignity of every human - especially those that society has turned their back to. That's why a portion of every item sold and service offered through Do Good Beauty gets donated to great local organizations. We make a difference by focusing on six key areas:
Serving the Homeless
One of the most most basic human needs is that of shelter. Unfortunately, over half a million people in the US face homelessness, including over 35,000 unaccompanied youth. Not only are these children more at risk for hunger, disease, illness, etc, they are also one of the most at risk groups for human trafficking.
Fighting Food Scarcity
In 2021, as many as 1 in 8 people in the US faced food insecurity - including 13 million children. As part of our efforts to make sure that the basic needs of everyone are met, we partner with local organizations to help feed those in our community.
Protecting Those That Cannot Speak For Themselves
At Do Good Beauty, we believe that every life matters and that extends to life in the womb. We believe that mothers and their children deserve to be loved, supported, and provided with the resources they need to thrive. We're proud to be working in the Jacksonville community to help serve pregnant women in situations that are unexpected and/or feel insurmountable.
Eliminating Human Trafficking
One of the most abhorrent practices in the world today is human trafficking. It is a complete violation of the dignity of each and every victim. It is estimated that between 15,000 and 50,000 women and children are forced into sexual slavery in the US alone each year.
Employing The Previously Incarcerated
For many individuals, time spent in prison is like a scarlet letter that they carry with them for the rest of their lives. Studies have shown that more than 60% of the formerly incarcerated are currently unemployed. We believe that people can change and rehabilitation is possible and we are committed to helping to create opportunities and reduce recidivism through counseling, life skills classes, and job training.
Empowering Those With Developmental and Physical Differences
We believe that every person in life deserves the chance to reach their full potential and the help they need to overcome any obstacles that might stand in their way.
